The Desert Jewel

Midgardormr Goblet Ward 26 Plot 8

Located in the bustling streets of Ul'Dah, The Desert Jewel offers a place for respite, good company, and immersive RP in the heart of the city.

Minah JomalahHailing from a Keeper clan on the outskirts of Thanalan, Minah Jomalah, a former goldsmith and field aetherologist, is the owner and proprietor of The Desert Jewel.
Minah has traveled all across the star, from as far west as Sharlayan all the way to the eastern shores of Doma. After many years of fieldwork, Minah decided to return to her home city and provide a space of relaxation and comfort in Ul'Dah.

Makkon OstornsynFormerly a professional mercenary and bodyguard, Makkon is the head culinarian of The Desert Jewel. Makkon was raised by his foster parents, a roegadyn couple, in La Noscea and he first learned the culinary arts through watching and helping his foster mother while growing up. He eventually took up the path of the Marauder in Limsa Lominsa where he rapidly rose through the ranks. An injury at the hands of a jealous rival permanently cost him the use of his voice, leaving him mute. Makkon has faced this new challenge head-on and has learned to communicate through writing in a notebook. Now, Makkon puts his food skills to use as the culinarian at The Desert Jewel. He is always staying as positive as he can and always enjoys making people's days better.

Zayah WilderHailling from Tomra, Zayah is a proud, confident and sassy lass with a passion for weaving and showing off her skills in the wolves den. She carries herself with an air of mystery and bravado almost unnatural for someone her size she however has a softer side that wants to protect those she hold dear even if her words don't always follow course. Zayah is not afraid to get into tussles and will gladly accept any drinking challenges (Beware, she has out-drank Roegadyn five times her size) She fully believes the actions speak louder than words saying. At the head of an adventuring guild she has many allies and ears all across Eorzea.

Ny'ope GenhuNy’ope is a humble soul at heart and good in nature. She exhibits a mildly benevolent demeanor wherever she goes and always smiles. It could be because she’s a Paladin, but no one really knows why she seems so kind-hearted. If she’s asked, she’ll admit that she wasn’t “Always” a paladin and that she isn’t Eorzean. Beyond that, the woman’s life upon the star has been a blessing. Her optimism can be seen as a beacon of hope that she hopes cuts through the darkness just to see someone smile. Like many or most she’ll offer aid if she can and if she can’t, Ny’ope will provide other alternatives that might prove to be helpful.

M'Thea RahzHailing from Gyr Abania and referred to as a "desert flower" by some, Thea is an avid trader, though most only hear about the more musical prowess regarding her others hobbies, be it expressing herself through the instruments, or through dance. She arrived at Ul'dah at an early age shortly after the calamity had struck, though it didn't take long for her to settle in. Thea worked in a few venues and companies through the years, but settled on the solace of the Jewel after an unexpected offer. Although talkative towards patrons and always happy to offer assistance and opinions if asked, there's a lingering suspicion and secrecy when it comes to a more personal approach, as there are few in her inner circle.

Gnocchi GamgeeHailing from the far eastern reaches of The Black Shroud, Gnocchi is a kind-hearted soul with a passion for good music, good tea, and good company. When she’s not playing newfound melodies at The Desert Jewel, you can find her gathering herbs all across Hydaelyn, or serving drinks at her own venue, The Sage’s Nook!
